Making a difference
Under the umbrella of our Corporate Responsibility policy, we develop and promote technologies, products and services that are environmentally sustainable. For instance, we pioneered the use of molecular fluorine (F2) as a replacement for fluorinated gases such as nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) that have a high global warming potential. Fluorine can eliminate the risk of unwanted greenhouse gas emissions resulting from chamber cleaning in the manufacture of semiconductors, TFT-LCD flat panel displays and thin-film solar panels.
